Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation
to Celebrate 20 Years at October 16 Event

Fans can enjoy a racing/entertainment doubleheader at Keeneland on Friday, October 16, when the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation hosts a fund-raising celebration to mark the 20th anniversary of its creation, beginning approximately one hour after the conclusion of the day's live race card.

The celebration will be held at the Keeneland Entertainment Center and will honor foundation board members Dr. Larry Bramlage, the longtime chairman of the Research Advisory Committee, and Dr. Gary Lavin, the longtime vice chairman of the foundation.

The event will feature cocktails, dinner and musical entertainment by nine-time Grammy Award winner Asleep at the Wheel, the "kings of Texas swing."

Wine for the evening has been donated by Haras. The Haras de Pirque estate, located in Chile's Maipo Valley, is home to both the internationally acclaimed Haras winery and the country's leading Thoroughbred breeding operation. Haras owner Eduardo Matte, one of South America's top Thoroughbred breeders and partner in the Haras winery with the Antinori winemaking family of Tuscany, will be in attendance to discuss the wines.

Tickets for the event are $150 and can be obtained by contacting Nancy Kelly at (212) 521-5305 or nkelly@jockeyclub.com.

Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation is the leading source of private funding for equine medical research that benefits all breeds. The foundation was formed in 1989 when the Grayson Foundation and The Jockey Club Research Foundation, both of which were funding equine research, merged. Since the merger, Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation has underwritten 219 specific projects at 36 universities for more than $14.6 million.
